Green is The Word, Act VIII

Good Friday fellow Timbers!

"Does anybody really know what time it is?"
~ Robert Lamm, Chicago

A gentle reminder~
Though the High Priest is up to his neck (or should I
say clerical collar?), in re-usable paper, He still
notices alot of paper being shredded or recycled that
could be re-used. Remember that any paper He or His
Disciples collects stays in-house. If anyone is in
doubt regarding this, please discuss with Him.

The Green Tip of the week~
So many of us here at the office are buying coffee or
beverages up the street, yet we don't use our own
cups/ mugs. Granted, in certain situations, this may
not be feasible or convenient, but in the long run, it
makes an INCREDIBLE difference.

According to EcoCupInfo.com:
"Every year, Americans drink more than 100 billion
cups of coffee. Of those, 14.4 billion are served in
disposable paper cups, enough to wrap the earth 55
times if placed end-to-end! Those paper cups contain a
plastic lining made from a petrochemical that would
produce enough energy to heat 8,300 homes."

I'm willing to bet that if they were called
PETROCHEMICAL cups instead of PAPER cups, a lot more
people would bring their own travel mugs. If you
aren't interested in washing your mug every day, have
several mugs available and wash them together. As an
added bonus, some coffee shops offer a small discount
for using your own mug, usually five cents.

I'll end today's sermon with a quote from a distant
cousin of mine and yours, Mr. Charles Darwin.....
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives,
nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive
to change."

Change we must, to live again~

Curtis
High Priest of Reusing, Reducing, and Recycling
